When Nicole Garrow and Benjamin Marris set out on a treasure hunt with their nephews in tow, she was completely unaware of what was about to unfold. Instead of gold, the treasure box concealed a note which read ‘will you marry me?’ and as she turned around she saw her future husband down on one knee.
Nicole and Benjamin knew they wanted to keep things casual for their wedding day and for them, Bright on the Murray was the perfect venue to host both the ceremony and reception in the open air. After sharing dinner under the stars complete with an ice-cream truck, the couple danced the night away surrounded by family and friends. Accommodation on site also meant they were not rushed to end the party early.
The first look
With their ceremony set for 4pm, the couple decided to do most of the photos before saying ‘I do’. Nicole said spending the morning with her husband-to-be helped calm the nerves and gave them more time to share with loved ones at the reception. “We wanted to make the most of the day,” she said. “With all the people coming to celebrate with us, we wanted to spend as much time with them as possible.”
When planning turned to flowers, Nicole opted for silk bouquets that not only looked real but could be an everlasting keepsake. “It just seemed like a lot of money to spend on a bouquet just to throw away at the end of the day,” she said.
