Just shy of their fifth anniversary together, Anna Steward and Simon Tate were wed in an intimate lakeside ceremony before surprising their loved ones at their engagement party/reception. When the newlyweds arrived they were overwhelmed by the excitement of their family and friends.
Let's get married
While travelling around America Anna and Simon realised they could not wait to be married.
The last-minute decision meant they only had weeks to turn their already planned engagement party into a wedding.
With the invitations already sent out, they chose to add a ceremony earlier in the day and were married in a private ceremony surrounded by 30 loved ones.
What a reception
A large chalkboard sign let the guests in on the surprise when they gathered at the Woolshed, Emerald Bank.
After building the suspense, Simon and Anna walked through the doors as husband and wife an hour later and were met with a roar of excitement.
“The reception we received from all of the guests was absolutely massive and so much fun,” Anna said.
“We managed to keep the day a secret from most, which added to just how special the reception party was, celebrating with the rest of our family and friends.”
Little black dress
Anna again opted to stray from tradition when it came to selecting her bridesmaids’ dresses.
Ever since she was 15 Anna knew she wanted the most important women in her life to stand next to her on the big day wearing glamorous black gowns.
