Bridal party banquet

By Bride and Groom 02 May 2018

The flurry of wedding day preparations and last minute tasks can limit time to eat but it’s important to maintain good nutrition so you can enjoy your special day.

Factor in a bridal party banquet between the ceremony and reception, when formal photographs are being taken, to give you and your attendants a chance to relax, unwind and prepare for the reception celebrations.

Place a trusted friend or relative in charge of preparing and transporting a selection of foods and refreshments to your photo destination, keeping in mind the need for appropriate food handling and storage….think eskies, ice and provision for rubbish removal.

Add a rug or two, selection of comfortable cushions and earthy timber platters and you will have an Instagram-worthy setting for the spread.

Easy-to-eat finger-foods such as cheeses, cold meats, olives, fresh fruit and gourmet biscuits can offer the sustenance needed while requiring little or no preparation.

Bear in mind the need to protect wedding attire so opt for foods that aren’t too messy and make sure there is a swathe of serviettes and wet wipes to mop up any accidental spills.
