Let’s plan a wedding

By Bride and Groom 07 February 2018

Just a hop, skip and a jump from the Goulburn Valley a contemporary wedding festival will make its debut later this month.

Showcasing the North East’s best venues and over 60 creative suppliers, Love + Light Wedding Festival will be held in Rutherglen on Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18.

The event will feature an interactive destination trail with seven venues set up wedding-ready.

Love + Light brings together the vision of event director Georgie James, who set out to create a wedding fair that sparked the imagination of all involved.

“We want you to walk away feeling inspired and engaged, knowing exactly where to hold your special ceremony and how it’s going to play out,” Georgie said.

“Instead of seeing rows upon rows of 3 by 3 m booths, Love + Light will feature all participating venues styled as ‘wedding ready’.

“This unique twist means our guests get to see their best day in advance, with the ability to envisage exactly who they want to work with and where.

“It’s going to be a tantalising treat that’s fun, engaging, light and exciting."

Love + Light will launch with a runway special on the Saturday evening, followed by Sunday’s exclusive admission to stunning wedding venues including castles, wineries and gardens.

Prizes valued at over $8500 will also be on offer at the festival.

The major prize package is worth over $6000 and includes dress design, photography, wedding planning and more, with further rewards for two other lucky winners who visit each venue along the trail.

“This makes a fabulous start towards a Rutherglen wedding, with huge savings making a world of difference for our prize winners’ wedding budgets,” Georgie said.

“If you’re getting married in the foreseeable future, it’s a fantastic opportunity to experience the talents of some of the region’s best wedding suppliers.”

Tickets cost $25 and are available via Love + Light.
