A ring fit for a princess

Prince Harry took American actress and humanitarian Meghan Markle completely by surprise when he got down on one knee and proposed in London earlier this month.

A cozy night in cooking a roast chicken dinner together turned into a moment they will never forget and one that Ms Markle described as romantic and natural.

Designed by Harry himself the ring is yellow gold, Ms Markle’s favourite, and the setting includes three stones.

Speaking to the BBC Harry said he sourced the main stone from Botswana where the pair spent five days camping under the stars early in their relationship.

The other stones were once worn by Princess Diana.

“The little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewelry collection to make sure she’s with us on this crazy journey together,” he said.

Ms Markle said the inclusion of Princess Diana’s jewelry was incredibly thoughtful.

“Not being able to meet his mum it’s so important to me to know that she’s a part of this with us,” she said.

The royal wedding is expected to take place in Spring 2018.
