When Alison Harris attended a 21st birthday party, she had no idea that the man behind the bar would be her future husband. On their wedding day, Alison and Christopher Lawford stood on the banks of a lake and took their first steps towards a long future together.
After two years together, Christopher knew he wanted to marry Alison. A stroll along the beach at Portsea on their two-year anniversary was made all the more memorable when Christopher got down on one knee and proposed.
Simple and classy
Forgoing a theme, the couple instead opted for a demure colour palette for their wedding to pull the overall look together. “[We] just kept it simple and classy with white, navy and silver,” Alison said. For the bridal bouquet Alison carried shades of pink and cream, complementing her dress beautifully.
When it came to choosing her wedding dress, Alison ended up with was the exact opposite of what she expected. “I didn’t really want strapless or anything too big, but that’s what I got!” she said. Alison and her sister Jodie Boumbis walked into a dress shop and Jodie immediately exclaimed “that’s the one”. After trying on the glamorous dress, Alison agreed. “I felt like a princess.”
