When Trindi and Leigh were introduced through mutual friends more than a decade ago, they had no idea they would one day become husband and wife. After 13 years together, the high school sweethearts exchanged vows in the grounds of Mitchelton Winery on a beautiful October day and began a new chapter of their lives.
Home is where the heart is
When making their table centerpieces, Trindi and Leigh used some materials that were close to their hearts to set them apart. “We made our own wooden boxes from recycled timber left over from our new home,” Trindi said. “[They] made amazing centrepieces filled with flowers.”
The bride said it was incredibly special to bring her friends and family together for the wedding, especially those who had witnessed the couple’s entire love story. “Our wedding was a celebration not only for us, but for everyone that has been there along the way,” she said.
Catch of the day
While fishing on the river, the couple’s relaxed day took a romantic turn when Leigh got down on one knee and asked Trindi to marry him. She of course said yes. “I caught the biggest fish that day, but Leigh claims he got the catch of the day,” she said.
With the ceremony finished, it wasn’t until the couple was walking back through Mitchelton Winery with the bridal party that the reality of the day started to sink in for Trindi. “We walked ahead of everyone, a beer in one hand and Leigh’s hand in the other, and at that exact time it all felt so real. I was married to the love of my life,” she said.
