A winery wedding

By Bride and Groom 02 June 2017

After more than seven beautiful years together, Lauren Blackshaw and Ben McCabe said “I do” at a gorgeous winery. They welcomed the next chapter of their relationship in an elegant affair, with shades of navy and white taking centre-stage.

When Lauren found her wedding dress, the whole theme of the wedding came together easily. Lauren said her elegant dress was the biggest influence on the wedding style. “(The wedding) was very vintage inspired; lots of glass, mirrors, whites, navy and greenery,” she said.

Be yourself

Involving loved ones in the wedding planning process was meaningful for the couple, but Lauren said it is important to make it clear to people what you want. “Opinions of friends and family are helpful, but also stay true to yourself. Too many opinions can sometimes make the process confusing.”

Sunset romance

While on holiday in Darwin, the couple decided to go for a walk. Little did Lauren know it was an evening stroll that would change her life. As the sun set on Mindil Beach, Ben got down on one knee and asked Lauren to spend the rest of her life with him, to which she happily said “yes”.

Memorable moment

In a day full of happy memories, it was the walk down the aisle that stood out most for Lauren. “Standing at the end of the aisle with my dad by my side, and seeing Ben’s smile, I was so excited to marry my best friend,” she said.
