An important location for an important day

By Bride and Groom 10 May 2017

Emma Lowe and Matthew Barker chose their 10 year anniversary for their wedding day, they shared their vows on the Barker family property 'Glengower' at Mayrung, as it is a location important to them both. The couple harvested greenery from the property to add a little more of the farm to the wedding day.

After proposing to his bride-to-be along the flooded Edward River at Deniliquin in September, Emma and Matt took five months to plan their perfect wedding day.

‘‘We walked in the rain behind the McLean Beach Caravan Park, near the Beach to Beach Walk, and Matt got down on one knee on a stretch of sand,’’ Emma said.

‘‘He pulled the ring out of his sock and asked me to be his wife.’’

Emma chose friends Felicia Russell and Jemma Kerr to be her bridesmaids.

The bride wore a beautiful ivory gown with lace bodice, chiffon skirt and button up back and a fingertip veil, while her bridesmaids looked resplendent in white wrap front gowns with a tulip hemline.

Emma carried a bouquet of white roses, cluster roses, David Austin roses, lysianthus and assorted gums sourced on the farm.

Matt’s groomsmen were his brothers Justin and Hayden.

The pair also held their reception at the family farm, dancing to the band Entourage and enjoying a photobooth well into the evening.

The couple honeymooned in Seminyak, Bali before returning to their home in Deniliquin.
